Astronaut/Alumna Nicole Stott Prepares to Leave International Space Station for Journey Home

Astronaut Nicole Stott has wrapped up her duties as a flight engineer on the International Space Station and is now a mission specialist onboard Space Shuttle Atlantis. Stott, an Embry-Riddle alumna, spent three months on the ISS and will return to Earth on Atlantis, with the landing scheduled for Nov. 27. She is the final astronaut to be both delivered to and retrieved from the ISS via Space Shuttle.

Stott holds a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle and is one of six Embry-Riddle alumni who are current or former astronauts. Stott and fellow Embry-Riddle alumnus B. Alvin Drew have been assigned as crewmembers to the final Space Shuttle mission, scheduled for September 2010.
